Hitachi Construction Machinery

About the COMPANY

A manufacturer of construction machinery within the Hitachi Group, HCM developed Japan’s first ever hydraulic excavator.

Drawing on its creative techniques and ideas, the Hitachi Group has produced a series of world-first technologies and products in a variety of areas. Among them, the Group has pioneered the construction machinery sector, developing the Hitachi U05 cable operated power shovel entirely with Japanese technology in 1949 and the Hitachi UH03 hydraulic excavator made entirely with Japanese technology in 1965. These first-of-its-kind products in Japan were widely recognized all over the world in their function and quality, such that in the 1990s, Japan’s construction machinery had grown to dominate the global market.

The Hitachi Construction Machinery Group came about in 1965, created from these former construction machinery divisions at Hitachi. Since then, the Group has developed an array of products, such as excavators, dump trucks, wheel loaders and cranes, leading the industry as a full-range manufacturer of construction machinery. In recent years, the Group has ventured beyond the field of construction machinery into a wider range of product areas, further strengthening its overall capacity.

*Mechanical Engineering Heritage: Recognition given by the Japan Society of Mechanical Engineers for historical heritage that relates primarily to mechanical technology. The aim of the certification is to carefully preserve historic heritage associated with mechanical technology and to pass it on to the next generation as cultural heritage.
The ASTACO twin-arm machine is highly efficient and can perform delicate work.
Trolley dump trucks make mining development more efficient and reduce environmental burden.
The ZH200 hybrid hydraulic excavator helps to lower the burden on the environment.
Rigid dump trucks utilize the technologies of the Hitachi Group that help to lower maintenance costs.
