Converting rocky barren lands of grape-vine farmers into fertile agricultural fields (Tata Hitachi Construction Machinery)

Tata Hitachi Construction Machinery (THCM) strives to contribute to the development of communities and societies.
As one of the projects, THCM focused on this larger goal, and took it upon themselves to solve the socio-economic problems of Nashik grape-vine farmers in Maharashtra, India through their product.

In 2018, THCM’s new excavators ZX140H were sold to contractors of Nashik who worked on the fields of grape-vine farmers and land reclamation started. By September 2019, large swathes of barren, rocky lands of grape-vine farmers have been converted into fertile agricultural fields remarkably.
This new excavator has been originally designed and developed by seeking the farmers requirements “Robust, fuel-efficient and reliable machine”. After delivering the machine, engineers from THCM also kept observing the machine’s performance at customers’ site, studying machine’s performance and incorporating further improvements.

Due to this land reclamation, income increase is expected to the farmers. Also, rural youth are getting employment for not only these reclamation works but also for field preparation and planting of grape-vines at the next stage. Due to this, significant employment is continuously getting generated.

In this way, while satisfying customers needs, THCM could also contribute to the development of local communities successfully.
