Hitachi Construction Machinery Americas Preserves and Protects the River Ecosystem with the Local Community Project in Georgia
Hitachi Construction Machinery Americas, headquartered in Newnan, Georgia, initiated a community-based project to address pollution in local waterways. Their vision is to ensure a prosperous land and society for the future and are undertaking a diverse range of initiatives to achieve it.
For their latest project, they partnered with non-profit organizations ‘Chattahoochee Riverkeeper’ and ‘Keep Newnan Beautiful’ to install a trash trap at a local park near downtown Newnan, Georgia, a key site for runoff and debris. Thanks to the help of local community members, CJ Smith Park now has a trash trap that collects waste, debris, and other materials before they can enter the river system. To drive this initiative, employees of Hitachi Construction Machinery Americas held a fundraiser, which was matched by corporate funds. Installation took place on June 25, 2025, with participation from team members and community partners.
Hitachi Construction Machinery Americas plans to increase employee participation in sustainability initiatives through volunteer and educational opportunities. They will continue to strengthen collaboration with local communities in their efforts to secure a prosperous land for the future.
