Extended Warranty
HITACHI provides both Standard Warranty (Free of charge) and Extend Warranty (EXW) (Chargeable) for all HITACHI PRODUCTs. HITACHI EXW is a total warranty package available to owners of HITACHI PRODUCTs which consists of FULL COVERAGE and POWER TRAIN warranty. Customers can choose both of them according to the operating conditions. FULL COVERAGE has the same coverage as Standard Warranty. Customers who make high working hours in their operation or who require total support would be recommended to have a FULL COVERAGE contract. POWER TRAIN covers all the key components (e.g. engine and hydraulic components). Customers who have normal operation machines or who prefer to control the total support cost would be recommended to have a POWER TRAIN contract.

a. Reducing cycle costs Predictable expense to maintain a machine. Unexpected repairs will not influence the customers' financial plans. Finally downtime for repair job could be reduced.
b. Enhancing reliability Problems could be found and prevented from developing at an early stage through periodical inspections (oil sampling and visual inspection).
c. Increasing productivity Specific maintenance, repair and oil analysis records are kept on a machine basis, and customers can maintain the machine operating performance. The records could be useful to evaluate and increase the machine's value. Repairs are done by a HITACHI distributor using genuine HITACHI parts and maintain the machine value when the customer resells the machine.
B-2. To Distributors / Dealers
a. Improving Customer Satisfaction Gain greater customer satisfaction via providing an optional menu of a warranty and extended warranty period.
b. Increasing the Amount of Sales Get more opportunities for sales of consumable parts & preventative maintenance even after the standard warranty period.
c. Helping Customer Communication Have more chance to communicate with customers beyond STANDARD warranty period.
d. Gathering Customer Information Have longer period to monitor the machine condition and find the customer's future needs (i.e. overhaul, modification and purchase of a new machine etc.).
e. Helping New Machine Promotion Provide wider coverage range than others via POWER TRAIN to give additional sales point for new machine promotion.
