We spoke with Henrik Ivansson, Operations Manager, to learn more about his role, the Swedish construction market, and what makes Hitachi machines the preferred choice for so many customers.

What do you like most about working at Delvator?

I work as an Operations Manager, responsible for ordering, equipping and logistics of all our Hitachi machines. What I enjoy most is the collaboration with our sales team and our customers. Every day is about finding the right set-up for each customer’s needs, and seeing the machine delivered perfectly equipped is a great feeling.

What’s special about construction in Sweden?

Sweden has very varied conditions – from rocky ground in the north to soft clay soils in the south. That means our machines need to handle everything from urban projects to forestry and mining. The long distances and the changing seasons also make reliability and fuel efficiency extra important here.

How do you see the construction market evolving in your country?

We see a strong focus on sustainability and digitalisation. Customers are looking for smarter, more efficient machines and want to minimise fuel consumption and environmental impact. There’s also a growing interest in electric machinery and connected solutions, which will play a big role in the near future.

How long have you been working with Hitachi Construction Machinery?

I’ve been working with Hitachi for over 20 years, and I still enjoy it every day. Hitachi stands for quality, reliability, and precision, and that’s exactly what our customers appreciate. Once you’ve seen how well a Hitachi performs on site, it’s hard to go for anything else.

If you could give one piece of advice to new customers, what would it be?

Try it out! Once you sit in the cab of a Hitachi excavator and feel how smooth and precise the hydraulics are, you’ll understand the difference. It’s not just a machine – it’s a partner you can rely on.

Tell us about a unique or memorable project…

A special one for me is the ZX300LC-7 super long front excavator working on a major infrastructure project in Stockholm. It’s an impressive machine with a very special configuration, built for maximum reach and control. Seeing that project come together was a real highlight.

What is your favourite Hitachi machine and why?

Definitely the ZX300LC-7. It’s the perfect combination of power, balance, and comfort. Operators love its smooth hydraulics, and it’s a very versatile model that fits many applications in Sweden.

Finally, tell us a fun fact about you!

When I’m not working with excavators, you’ll probably find me on the golf course or renovating my summer house. I love spending time outdoors, building things, and I even rent out some of the cottages I’ve restored over the years.
