Five reasons to use 3D machine control on the construction site
Could you optimise your workflow with Hitachi ICT-enabled machinery? It combines the unmatched precision, and reliability of Hitachi excavators, with the accuracy of 3D technology. Here we explain the top five reasons to use 3D machine control in your day-to-day operations.
1. Get it right first time
Thanks to clear and accurate on-screen guidance, operators can clearly see the bucket height, depth, tilt and rotation against design and limits to confidently complete the work right first time. As a result, owners also benefit from lower fuel consumption and therefore environmental impact.
2. Utilise satellite-positioning technology
Multiple global satellite networks allow the position and elevation of the machine to be continuously updated. Operators can therefore work across the entire site design without having to re-calibrate their position.
3. Achieve high levels of accuracy
Combining global navigation satellite system (GNSS) with real time kinematic correction signals from either mobile signal or base station, ensures centimetre level accuracy at the tool end of the machine.
4. Work safely and independently
Directly available 3D design data from the cloud reduces the reliance on surveyors or paper drawings. Operators can work independently using the most up-to-date drawings, in addition to measuring and storing ‘as built’ data points.
Safety is also increased through the requirement for fewer on-site personnel, reducing the chance of accidents.
5. Be part of a connected ecosystem to increase efficiency
Through our technology partners, your machine is ready to become a part of an intelligent digital ecosystem allowing seamless, data-driven efficiency across the entire construction process.
What options are available to Hitachi construction machinery customers?
We offer a choice of multiple technology providers, and can fit their equipment on your machine with our signature quality and consistency standards. You also have the flexibility to choose from a full turn-key system from Hitachi, or just the hardware preparation – allowing you to add or switch ‘plug and play’ cab kit components in the future.
