Hitachi is the benchmark for reliability
The basalt quarry produces essential materials for railway and road construction projects. With a 15-year licence to continue its operations in the quarry, it dedicates 60% of its output to railway projects and 40% to road sites, such as the aggregates for the asphalt and drainage required.
Sustainable operations
Vaccari has a history of transforming abandoned quarries into green areas and public spaces for local communities. The company’s environmental restoration plans involve land reclamation, removing obsolete structures, reforestation, and creating wildlife habitats.
Vaccari's Production Manager, Mauro Pesavento, confirms that the San Pietro Mussolino quarry will undergo these improvements once operations wrap up.
A positive experience with Hitachi machinery
The decision to add the ZX530LCH-7 to its fleet – which already includes two other Hitachi excavators: a ZX470 and ZX490 – was influenced by Vaccari’s positive experience with Hitachi construction machinery.
Mauro points out the importance of having a machine set up specifically for working with heavy and abrasive rock materials, and in particular a strong undercarriage for optimum stability and safety during operations.
“During rock-clearing operations, it is essential that the operator has a guarantee of safety,” says Pesavento.
“These are factors that come before the comfort of the seat or the cab – which are also indisputable. We want to provide operators with a machine that makes them feel safe.”
A satisfied customer
Comac's Padova Branch Manager and Veneto Regional Sales Manager, Mario Rebella, acknowledges that Vaccari's satisfaction with previous Hitachi machines played a key role in the company’s most recent acquisition, alongside the dealer support.
“I have been working with Vaccari for four years, and like all our customers, they recognise Hitachi as the benchmark for reliability in the market. In addition, the customer signed a maintenance contract of up to 10,000 global hours to benefit from our rapid response times.”
“This alongside Vaccari’s previous positive experience with Zaxis excavators, certainly influenced their decision to purchase the ZX530LCH-7.”
