Hitachi plays its part in Dutch contractor’s success
Dutch contractor Arco de Visser, based in Zeeland, has been a Hitachi customer since 2005, having started his business in 2003. “I had operated machines from a young age and when I started working for myself, I requested offers from different brands. The quickest reply and the best offer were from the local Hitachi sub-dealer, Pladdet,” he says.
Since then, Arco has purchased 15 Hitachi machines in total, ranging from one to 23 tonnes. “My favourite is the ZX210 because of its high capacity, manoeuvrability, and how easy it is to transport.”
He has continued to buy Hitachi machines over the last 17 years due to the price, the excellent service he receives from Pladdet, and the strong relationship he has with salesman Peter van Liere. His fleet currently includes ten Hitachi models, including three mini excavators, two ZX85US-6s, a ZX145W-6 wheeled excavator and ZX210-6. The latest addition to the fleet was a ZX180-7 delivered in July 2022.
Quality and comfort
“The Zaxis-7 machines are easy to adjust for the job site, so make our work easier,” says Arco, who worked with the new ZX180-7 for a couple of days during his holidays. “My first impression was very positive – the quality and comfort are excellent, and it is quiet and fast.”
Operator Lous Jark is also very enthusiastic about the latest machine: “The cab is very luxurious, it’s a nice place to work. I like that there are several cameras and that the seat is adjustable.”
Utilising the versatile Hitachi fleet, Arco de Visser BV and its 30 employees now complete construction projects from A-Z, such as building holiday parks with roads and utilities. Considering how his company has grown from a small sub-contractor to what it is today, Arco says: “Our people are what I’m most proud of. And Hitachi machines have helped them to be successful and grow.”
