Reliability, support and the perfect machine for the job
When it comes to choosing an equipment manufacturer to supply a fleet for a quarry or mine, European companies are faced with multiple options. Considering the size of the investments at stake, and the importance of the equipment’s performance on their profitability, how do these businesses make such crucial decisions?
According to Sylvain Rialland, Industrial Performance Manager at Lafarge Holcim in France, there are three major factors involved. The first focuses on reliability: “For us, machine availability – having a reliable machine that is always ready to be used – is one of the three strengths we look for in a construction equipment manufacturer.”
The second consideration is the support they can expect to receive after the initial investment. For customers of Hitachi Construction Machinery (Europe), this comes from its established local dealer network. “The response time to any potential issue with a machine is vital,” adds Sylvain.
The third and final demand is the ability to have the right machine in the right place. “By this, I mean a machine that is a good fit for the task at hand,” he explains.
