The world’s leading trade fair for construction machinery welcomed around 600,000 visitors from over 200 countries to Munich in April, and the HCME stand was among the main attractions. Together with our European dealers and partner KTEG, we presented a range of innovative solutions to some of the most pressing challenges of today’s construction industry – as well as an ambitious vision for the future – at Bauma 2025.
Addressing the need for climate-neutral solutions, the shortage of skilled operators; and rising operational costs, our stand exhibited specifically designed products and tools under the theme: Challenges Accepted.
Designed for zero-emission job sites were nine battery-powered excavators, presented alongside effective charging options. These included an innovative battery swap system making its international debut.
Making life easier
Supporting operators, a variety of versatile multi-tool carriers were on display. These machines with advanced attachments cater to all skill levels and are perfectly compatible with leading attachment and tilt rotator brands – such as Rototilt, OilQuick and EngCon – to significantly enhance efficiency.
The integration of advanced digital assist systems, including 2D/3D machine control, human detection and tool recognition, on Hitachi construction machinery was also showcased to demonstrate how they make life easier and safer for operators.
To address rising operational costs, our unrivalled parts availability and five-year warranty, as well as proactive maintenance solutions – which use connectivity to predict and prevent equipment issues without disruption – were part of the show. The smart fleet management system, LANDCROS Connect, was also a major highlight.
A vision for the future
A standout moment of the exhibition was the unveiling of LANDCROS One – a concept excavator that represents the HCME vision of what construction sites can become. HCME President and CEO Francesco Quaranta explained its benefits, such as enhanced efficiency and seamless operation 24/7 thanks to human-operated, remote-controlled and fully autonomous capabilities. Equipped for both electric and traditional combustion engines, the concept model also highlighted the possibilities for AI and sensor integration, drone landscape scanning technologies, self-monitoring intelligence systems and integrated documentation capabilities.
“At Bauma this year, we showed solutions beyond machinery,” says HCME President and CEO Francesco Quaranta. “The HCME stand presented the future of construction, and our commitment to innovation, sustainability, and operational excellence. Together with our partners and through an open-source approach, we are actively reshaping the future, and at Bauma we showcased the solutions we offer.”
