UK construction company builds success with Hitachi
For more than 20 years, Hitachi Construction Machinery UK (HCMUK) has been the trusted machinery partner of Leicestershire-based groundwork and civil engineering specialist, C3 Construction Ltd. From their first ZX130 excavator to the latest Zaxis-7 models, Hitachi machines have been at the heart of C3’s growth. Most recently, it has added a ZX210-7 its fleet, which has been customised with a refreshed company branding.
Partnership in practice
NCC’s specialist division, NCC Materiel, ensures that equipment is always in optimum condition and available when projects begin. With 43 employees across two Danish locations, the department effectively operates as an internal rental business, supplying machines to sites nationwide.
According to Equipment Manager, Marie Lundberg Vestergaard, the cooperation with HPE plays a vital role in ensuring machine selection is always aligned with project requirements.
“When we need new machines, it is important that we get the right equipment,” she says. “HPE is one of the suppliers that really steps up, because they know our approach, and we know theirs.
“That way, no mistakes are made, the machine is adapted and selected for the specific tasks, and expectations are aligned very quickly,” she adds.
The partnership accelerated in 2018, when NCC added several Hitachi machines to its fleet. Since then, Hitachi excavators have become an integral part of the company’s operations.
Building success together
Founded in 2003, C3 Construction has become one of the Midlands’ leading groundwork and civil engineering contractors. Over the years, Hitachi machines have played a central role. The company’s fleet is now predominantly made up of Hitachi equipment – a reflection of the consistent quality and high residual value the brand provides.
As part of its latest investment, C3 has introduced a refreshed company livery across its new Hitachi machines. Bold, modern, and instantly recognisable, the new look strengthens C3’s brand identity while underlining its confidence in Hitachi equipment as the foundation of its fleet.
“This new and refreshed branding is a proud milestone for us,” says C3 CEO Joel Denham. “It reflects how far we’ve come, celebrates the strong relationships and values that got us here and we’re excited to see what the future will bring.”
Investing in advanced Hitachi technology
C3’s other recent fleet additions include several Zaxis-7 excavators, supplied directly by HCMUK. Among them are two ZX250-7 machines equipped with Engcon tiltrotators and Leica Geosystems (part of Hexagon) machine control technology.
This combination provides C3 with greater precision, versatility, and efficiency on site. Together, these innovations ensure that the company can deliver projects to the highest standard, while maximising safety and productivity across its operations.
