UK contractor invests in Hitachi excavator for market redevelopment

A new Hitachi ZX135US-7B excavator is strengthening the capabilities of Umberslade, a UK-based specialist in soft strip-out, demolition, and groundworks. Delivered in early 2025, the 13-tonne machine will be used for groundworks on the Bilston Outdoor Market project, which is being led by principal contractor Speller Metcalfe. Supplied by Hitachi Construction Machinery UK, the ZX135US-7B provides exceptional performance, reliability, and efficiency, making it a valuable asset for complex foundation works.

The redevelopment of Bilston Outdoor Market in Wolverhampton represents a significant investment in the local community, with improvements designed to modernise the facility and increase its long-term sustainability.
