Greek Hitachi dealer enjoys double celebration in 2025
Helma SA celebrates two special milestones this year – five years as the authorised dealer for Hitachi Construction Machinery (Europe) NV (HCME) in Greece as well as its 40th anniversary. Since it became part of the HCME dealer network in 2020, Helma has succeeded in significantly raising the Hitachi brand’s presence across the country. It has also played a vital part in growing the Hitachi Premium Rental programme in Greece – and recently supplied ten ZX350-7 medium excavators on a rental contract to one of its customers.
The company is one of the leading suppliers to the technical industry in Greece, and prides itself on working with leading partners and high-quality products. It serves a broad range of customers, including construction companies of all sizes, from large contractors and subcontractors to individual machine owners. The majority are active in road construction, quarrying, general construction, earthmoving and recycling applications.
Four decades of experience
With its headquarters in the centre of Athens, and a service and after-sales department in Magoula, Attica, the company employs 42 people. It is led by CEO Iris Tsouma, whose father, Dimitris Tsoumas, founded the company in 1985. He decided to set up Helma SA after working in the construction machinery industry since a young age and gaining experience in the used equipment sector.
Iris started working at the company in 2019 after completing her university studies: “I always knew that one day I would be part of this. Growing up, I watched my dad and never imagined pursuing a different path.”
Reflecting on the company’s time as a Hitachi dealer, she adds: "I truly believe we've succeeded in making Hitachi products not just known, but genuinely loved by the Greek market — and that passion drives us to keep reaching for the very best.”
HCME President and CEO Francesco Quaranta says: “I would like to congratulate Helma not only on its 40th birthday, but also on its fifth anniversary as our valued partner in Greece. We appreciate Helma’s commitment to quality and the dedication it has shown in providing excellent after-sales service to our customers. We look forward to many more years of our successful partnership.”
Looking to the future, the dealer is in the process of expanding to meet growing demand. “We are creating a dedicated Hitachi showroom for stock machines, renovating our existing facilities, and growing the Helma family,” explains Iris.
