Environmental Committee’s Manufacturing Subcommittee Meeting Held at Hitachi Construction Machinery Tierra (Hitachi Construction Machinery Tierra)

On July 10, Hitachi Construction Machinery Tierra Co., Ltd. hosted the HCM Group’s 1H FY2015 Environmental Committee’s Manufacturing Subcommittee Meeting.

In addition to the regular bi-annual meetings, a factory tour was implemented to show examples of energy-saving measures and other initiatives being implemented at the production site. The goal is to employ the same practices throughout the HCM Group. HCM Tierra was given the Hitachi Group’s Eco-Factory Select* certification owing to the benefits it has reaped from its environmental activities. By seeing the initiatives being carried out first hand, the subcommittee members were able to actively exchange opinions that proved more practical.

Going forward HCM Group companies plan to expand their energy-saving activities, reduce the group’s overall impact on the environment, and contribute to the achievement of a sustainable society.
