In the new mid-term management plan “CONNECT TOGETHER 2019” that began in 2017, three strategies of “after sales,” “growth of 2nd and 3rd-tier main products” and “ICT, IoT (Internet of Things) solutions” are laid out. With this mid-term plan, we will create a corporate structure that can endure change and harvest the rewards of our growth strategy.
The management of ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) aspects is becoming more important in order for HCM to continue sustainable growth together with society towards 2030 and 2050. The CSV (Creating Shared Value) program, which was initiated in FY 2014, more clearly informs our stakeholders about the aims of HCM. The 3 CSV themes of “Solutions to Global Environmental Issues”, “Enhanced Initiatives to Increase Social Infrastructure Workforce” and “Contributions to Community Development” not only express a means for our SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) to address issues such as climate change that face our global society, but are also a strategy for expanding business opportunities through “One Hitachi.” The CSV targets we announced in 2016 regard climate change to be the biggest social issue we face, and we pledge to reduce CO2 by 33% * by 2030 through the business and product innovations of the HCM Group.
Meanwhile, the five basic CSR themes are founded on governance, and are themselves indispensable in promoting the 5 particular CSV themes.
We are promoting ESG management together as a Group, and creating a sustainable society that will protect the global environment while achieving growth through social infrastructure.
