During the three-day period of December 13-15, Hitachi Construction Machinery Co., Ltd. exhibited at “Eco-Products 2012,” a trade fair held at “Tokyo Big Sight” (Tokyo International Exhibition Center), as a key member of the Hitachi Group.
“Eco-Products” is the largest environmental theme exhibition in Japan. It shines as a forum for profiling state-of-the-art environmental products, technologies and services and other new business and eco-friendly activities, and for its role in disseminating information aimed at realizing a sustainable society.
The Hitachi Group is devoted to helping achieve a sustainable society on the strength of three core environmental visions – “Prevention of Global Warming,” “Conservation of Resources” and “Preservation of Ecosystems” (see graph below).
The theme for the Hitachi Group booth at this exhibition was “Towards a Sustainable Society ~Efficient Use of Energy for a More Affluent Future~”, with a broad range of environmentally compatible products showcased in support of that concept.
One such initiative was a panel display for the Hitachi Construction Machinery ZH200 Hybrid Hydraulic Excavator. Among visitors to the booth, many were surprised to learn that hybrid technology is no longer limited to automobiles, with its application now being expanded to construction machinery as well.

The extended Hitachi Group will continue to work for a sustainable society over the years to come, targeting ever more efficient use of energy.
