The Hitachi Construction Machinery Group fully supports NPO Good Earth Japan (GEJ), which offers humanitarian aid to people living in areas that have been cleared of landmines so that they can live independent lives.

At an awards ceremony held on February 5, the GEJ received the Ibaraki Prize for the Advancement of Internationalization. The award is given to those individuals and organizations that have made remarkable achievements in areas such as international exchanges, international cooperation, and multicultural symbiosis, to promote the internationalization of Ibaraki Prefecture. This award was first set up in 1986. As of 2011, the award was given to 303 individuals and 177 organizations. In 2014, the award was presented to two individuals and five organizations. Accepting the award on behalf of GEJ was Shoji Shinoda, Executive Director, who expressed his gratitude being given the prestigious award and saying the award was further incentive for GEJ to work to continue to contribute to the international community.
