On June 10, Hefei Rijian Shearing implemented a No Car Commute Day. The goal was to raise environmental awareness among all employees. Employees were encouraged to commute by bicycle, bus, or carpool. Although this was a one-day initiative, it was effective in reducing resource use, CO2 emissions, exhaust gas emissions, and noise. The number of cars used for commuting was cut by around 50% on this day. This contributed to a reduction in CO2 emission of around 205kg, based on calculations used for new car emissions in China.
