Main Environmental and CSR Activities in China in FY2015
Hitachi Construction Machinery Xi Wang Elementary School Visit by Hitachi Construction Machinery (Shanghai) and Qingdao Chengri Construction Machinery
On September 1, 2015, Hitachi Construction Machinery (Shanghai) (HCS) and Qingdao Chengri Construction Machinery (QCM) paid a visit to the Hitachi Construction Machinery Xi Wang Elementary School in Linyi City, Shandong Province as part of the educational support activities that HCS is engaged in each year.The elementary school was co-founded by HCS and QCM who supported construction of the school building.
On this occasion, on the invitation of HCS, Hitachi Construction Machinery (China) also accompanied them, and employees of the three companies mingled with the students by way of an environmental contest and play. HCS and QCM also presented scholarships to 45 excellent students from grades one to six.
We hope to continue to provide personnel training which can contribute to societal development through educational support activities.
Hitachi Construction Machinery Songgang Xi Wang Elementary School Visit by Hitachi Construction Machinery (China)
On September 8, 2015, Hitachi Construction Machinery (China) (HCMC) visited the Hitachi Construction Machinery Songgang Xi Wang Elementary School in Hefei City, Anhui Province.
HCMC donated a two million yuan education fund to Hefei City in June, 2009, and in April, 2010, 400,000 yuan of that education fund went towards subsidizing construction of the Xi Wang Elementary School.
As of September 2015, there were 92 enrolled students and seven teachers at the 7,200 m2 site. There is one class for each year from grades one to six, six regular classrooms and eight multimedia classrooms. This was the first time for personnel from Human Resources to visit the school and interact with the children since it opened.
HCMC will continue these support activities in the future.

●Hitachi Construction Machinery (Shanghai)
- Conducted environmental preservation classes and the like, and engaged in activities for Hitachi Environmental Protection Classrooms across China
- Supported the Hitachi Construction Machinery Xi Wang Elementary School in Linyi City, Shandong Province since 2008
- On the invitation of HCMC, visited the Hitachi Construction Machinery Songgang Xi Wang Elementary School in Hefei City, Anhui Province
- Supported a 100,000 m2 afforestation program for the Horqin Desert in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region of China for 10 consecutive years from 2004 to 2014, and is engaged in a ten-year-plan from 2014 to 2024 to provide support activities for a further 130,000 m2 of afforestation with its partners
- Co-sponsored the second Hefei International Marathon, and supported community cultural activities
- Engaged in special routine activity services for construction in the Chinese sector

- On the invitation of HCS, visited the Hitachi Construction Machinery Forest afforestation activities at the Horqin Desert in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region of China
- Invited employee’s families to our second Hitachi Construction Machinery Factory Open Day
- Ran educational programs by employee volunteers at community organization facilities as part of our support for the charity run activities of Wucaizhiyuan Qingchun zhaopao(The Five Color Volunteers’ Youth Run). These programs provided opportunities for those involved to consider environmental topics from the position of schools, communities, households and companies
- Conducted environmental preservation classes and related play activities for children, and held environmental preservation activities to raise children’s awareness of these issues
- Implemented evaluations of supplier’s CSR activities
