Protection with Innovation

Equipped with functions to further enhance the safety around the unit with a variety of cameras and sensors. It has become easier to detect the rear - which can be particularly difficult to check - making a more safer operating environment. We have also improved the cab design to reflect the operator feedback and provide a wider field of view seen directly from the driver's seat.

Avoiding dangers hidden
in the work site
Working on safety development is
our highest priority

Safety is of paramount importance in the use of construction equipment.
New features such as AERIAL ANGLE and Rear Obstacle Detection System make it easier to see what's behind the vehicle from inside the cab. As there are always dangers at the work site where the wheel loader is used, ideally it would be best to be able to operate it remotely without the operator physically inside the machine. Ever since joining the company, the goal has always been working towards autonomy-based operation where operators are able to "not be on the machine."
With this renewal, the electronic control of the operation system is almost completed, and I feel that the future for autonomous driving is starting to become a reality.

Features

AERIAL ANGLE

Images taken by cameras installed on both sides and behind are shown on the monitor. You can check the safety of the rear and sides of the unit on 1 screen. You can also select the image style from 2 patterns. In addition to assisting the field of view from the back camera installed in the previous model, it is now also possible to check the area near the unit with the monitor. The AERIAL ANGLE is installed for even greater safety in addition to side mirrors and visual confirmation.

REAR OBSTACLE DETECTION

There is a sensor mounted on the rear of the unit, and when it detects an obstacle, an alarm warning and a display on the sub monitor notify the operator helping to support safety confirmation.
The warning function with its alarm enhances safety when moving backward, which is a time more prone to accidents.

Hitachi Construction Machinery is following the SDGs (United Nations Sustainable Development Goals) Goal 12 "Responsible Consumption and Production," and aims to ensure more sustainable consumption and production levels. We are working to maintain and improve safety and quality, extend product life cycles, and reduce the overall environmental burden. A wider field of view from the cab is secured, and a new function to detect people and obstacles has been installed to help improve work safety. We are also working on the development of products that are not only functional but also more maintainable.
